Bluetorch Consulting Ltd was founded in 2023 by Mike Rouse following 15 years of experience in UK politics to provide technology services to political parties and individuals seeking elected office, or those campaigning for change.

We bring deep, hands-on NationBuilder expertise to organisations that struggle to find tech partners who truly get what they're building. From grassroots branch networks to regulatory compliance (e.g. Electoral Commission, ICO), we've built solutions most agencies wouldn't know where to start with based on our long experience in the political sector. 

For example, in the UK you need to carry out permissibility checks on any donations above £500, and it is important to record evidence that you have done so. This can be done in NationBuilder (and we can show you how) or we can integrate a sidecar system that scans, alerts and guides you through the compliance process. Similar regulations apply to non-party campaigners, so it is not just political parties that need to worry about compliance.

We also recognise the UK's particular political makeup and localised nature based on community politics (e.g. branches, associations, etc). We tame NationBuilder to deliver against your structure. For a national political party we automated the creation of more than 330 branches, for example.
